Reflections 01 is a pastel work in which landscape appears not as a depiction of a specific place, but as a space of inner perception. The real motif remains a point of departure, yet gradually moves away from description and transforms into relationships between fields of colour, light, texture, and horizontal rhythm.

The composition is built on the contrast between the almost weightless, luminous space of the upper part and the saturated violet and dark horizontal layers below. The boundary between sky, land, and distant space remains uncertain — the landscape seems to exist in a state of emergence or disappearance.

What matters to me here is not so much the motif itself, but what remains of what has been seen in memory: colour, light, the horizon, a sense of distance, and an emotional state. Fragments of reality are simplified, dissolved, or transformed, creating a new space between observation and memory.

This principle lies at the heart of the Reflections series — landscape becomes not a record of external reality, but a reflection of inner experience and a way of returning to what has been lived through colour, material, and form.
