Insomnia III explores a state in which night ceases to be a space of sleep and becomes a time of heightened perception. Thoughts, memories, and emotions lose their clear outlines, overlap, and form an inner reality of their own.

The composition is built through dense horizontal movements of paint. Golden, yellow, and ochre masses intersect with deep browns, purples, pinks, and unexpected accents of blue. Individual areas of light seem to break through the dense surface, creating a sense of inner luminosity.

The impasto makes the emotional state almost physical. Paint accumulates in layers, is erased, covers earlier traces, and then reveals them again. In this way, the surface of the canvas begins to resemble the mechanism of memory itself — images emerge, disappear, and return in altered form.

Rather than presenting insomnia as a state of anxiety, the work gives it a different meaning. It becomes emotional intensity, inner vibration, an inability to sleep caused by an excess of feeling. Night does not absorb light; on the contrary, it seems to generate it from within.

Insomnia III captures a moment when external reality gradually gives way to lived experience, and colour and texture become a means of expressing what cannot be articulated in words: the presence of a feeling that continues to exist even as its image begins to dissolve.
