Re-born V captures a state suspended between being and non-being. The central form retains a distinct corporeal presence, yet simultaneously loses its anatomical definition, becoming a kind of carrier of memory and a trace of the transformation it has undergone. The body appears here not merely as matter, but as a threshold — a place of transition between the physical and the metaphysical.

Dense layers of oil paint, deep reds and dark tones, and expressive painterly gestures intensify the sense of inner tension. The form seems to preserve the memory of its previous state while already moving beyond its boundaries.

The work continues the series’ reflection on mortality and rebirth, but shifts these questions into the realm of memory. Matter does not disappear without a trace: as it transforms, it retains an imprint of what it once was. Rebirth emerges as the acquisition of another form of presence — one that arises through the memory of its previous form.
